Page Not Supported

I hope I'm in the right place. My Internet Explorer6, when trying to view
most pages from my homepage, I get a white screen and in the top left corner
it states,
"Not Supported". I contacted Verizon whom I have a DSL account and they have
told me it is a problem with my Internet Explorer software. If this is the
case, how do I fix it. Do I d/l on top of the program?, or delete it and try
again?
