hello,
we are facing a serious problem. we run a smart client application over our
intranet which 'puts' the temporary executables and dll into this folder
(standard microsoft smar client behaviour).
The problem comes now:
When we restart our workstations, only 'Text Documents' and 'Icon' remain in
the temporary internet files folder.
All exe, dll even html files disapprear.
Our infrastructure guys say, there's no such policy in our company to delete
the temp internet files.
What could cause this problem. We have more than 100mb 'reserved' for the
temp internet files which is more than enough for our usage.
Is there a way I could find out what happens with these temp internet files?
There no 'autostart' batch which could delete these files ?????!?!?!?!?!?!
Thanks for any help
Markus

What folder are your Temporary Internet Files stored in?
Go to -
Internet Properties (Internet Options)
General Tab
Settings Button
Make note of the current location for Temporary Internet Files
Now Go to -
Internet Properties (Internet Options)
Advanced Tab
Security section
Is it checked to "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed"?
Do I understand correctly that you are saying that your
"smart client application" stores its files in the Temporary Internet Files folder????
