Well by far the safest starting point is to try and uninstall things using
the proper method, you don't want to go hacking bits out at random else your
email settings will be trashed and stuff.

Control panel>add./remove programs might show the various parts, if it does
you can usually uninstall from there, if that doesn't work it's either not
installed properly or else they blatantly lied above.
If you have settings for email fine, if not see if you can find them before
starting - the uninstall should be able to restore them unless they are
being awkward.
Check beforehand if you like. The graphics on this page (I don't have time
to do new ones) might help you navigate to the server names etc.

Incidentally the page is about a free program called popfile which does the
same as their system without the flaws and no info leaves your machine
except the emails you send... of course this is an old page so it's been
improved a bit now.
