Firewalls are individually configurable, and your IT staff has different
settings, not to mention a different, more extensible (and expensive)
firewall. Indeed, you may have nothing more than a router with NAT, and
some very simple rules, instead of a firewall, at home.

There may not be malicious code on that site. There may have been a hijack
of that site, at one time, which redirected visitors to a site with
malicious code. The IT staff may simply have reacted to that with a block.
Do keep in mind, your IT staff may not be willing to reveal the whole
technical reason for their action, in any case.
