Re: Web Site Loading Extremely Slowly... Other Sites Time Out

Hi Jeff,
I was having a similar problem with Delorme's websites - see a thread in
this newsgroups ("Certain Sites Load Slow or Not at All"). I had this
problem with only one of 3 computers, very similar in hardware, OS and
configuration, using the same internet connection. Very strange. Don
Varnau had many helpful suggestions, which I pursued, but none of which
helped.
In my case, the problem resolved itself spontaneously. I also found others
who were experiencing the same problem, one of which had his problem go away
at virtually the same time as mine. We concluded that the source of the
problem was in something on Delorme's end of the connection. I'm still
perplexed as I couldn't identify why one computer, and not the others,
experienced this problem.
I don't know if this is the case with your problem, but you might consider
contacting the administrator or tech support for the website that's giving
you fits, and see if they can help trouble-shoot the problem.
