No 'AutoSave' within IE -- needed for filling out Forms

Generally when mistakenly close an IE session, can recover via History.

Spent much time today in a 'form' composing a posting (response) to a forum.
Had to look at other sites for info for my posting, and lost track of which
IE session was my "form composition in progress".

Yes, I could have prepared my complicated posting "off line" and pasted it
in. And perhaps could have done a web page File>SaveAs to capture the work
in process.

1.) are there any General solutions for "autosaving" w/in IE for forms
completion?
2.) does anybody think this should be part of the FORMS syntax from w3c?
.
