internet security vs. bad web site design !!

Is it just me ? Am I choosing to surf the web in the most awkward way
possible ? Or is it that myriad security risks out there on the web, in
addition to bad web site design, have brought about the ridiculous amount of
*work* one has to do, to get a web site working properly in ones browser,
without compromising ones high security settings ?
*work* in to form of copying and pasting web address/es from IE6's address
slot into IE6's "trusted sites zone," and then wading into Norton's "Web
Content" list and allowing items like "scripting, java applets, flash,
cookies, allow animations to repeat ...etc.
AND THEN, one click further into that very same site and the web address
changes ...that's GOT to be bad web-site design, forcing me to add another
web address into the aforementioned TWO places, for the SAME SITE !!!
I have noticed the odd trustworthy web site that is built in such a way that
one can navigate around the entire site without the domain name changing.
What a shame that more aren't built like that !
And of course one has to use the hosts file from mvps.org which cripples
sites like http://www.ancestry.com and http://www.ancestry.co.uk because
they have crap like
http://adserver.ancestry.com/RealMedia/ads/adstream_jx.ads/www.ancestry.co.uk/homepage1403086672@x28?S0=1embedded in the site, ...or was that Norton blobking them.......sigh ......regards, Richard
