Hi,
I don't know why that happens or how to prevent it, but exporting that
registry key is a good idea. The key is
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\
MenuOrder\ Favorites]
See: 177482- Start menu and Favorites menu are not listed in alphabetical
order:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=177482
You might consider creating new folders within Favorites in order to better
organize Favorites.
Also, having more than 193 shortcuts in a Favorites folder will interfere
with sorting.
See: 259735 - Favorites May Not Sort in Alphabetical Order
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q259735
Hope this helps,
Don
