Re: IE icon question

Unlock the toolbar and drag the Main Toolbar area to about 1 inch of the System Tray. This will not group all instances of IE at first, but it will only leave enough room for 3 before it groups them, assuming the Toolbar is at its second height.

If you drag it down to the first level, they will group even faster, but you may have to change to Small Icons for the Quick Launch area of the Toolbar.

Thank you. I did change the icon to the IE icon (without shortcut arrow) but I am still launching shortcut IE windows. I would like the XP IE group feature to group all IE windows but it appears I have to launch 7 shortcuts before the windows are grouped. Can the amount be reduced at all? Or perhaps I should be launching non-shortcut windows (altough all mine are shortcuts currently) but in the past I have launched non-shortcuts windows and these were grouped after 2 windows were opened. How can I get my system to do this again?

Thank you.

The small E on a white background is an internet shortcut. Right click on
this icon and select the Properties option. You will see the address that is
opened when you select this shortcut. Also you can change the display icon
while your at it... Choose the Change Icon button on the Properties dialog.

It would appear that this shortcut somehow got on your task-bar. Either it
was placed there by software that you installed or you accidentally dropped
it there.

You can move the shortcut by holding down the shift key while you drag and
drop the shortcut. drag and drop it to your recycle bin if you dont want it

Hi

I have 2 types of IE icons displaying on my Windows taskbar. XP only
'groups' (where more than 5 windows are open) the IE windows with a blue
capital 'E'. The other IE icon is a 'white page' with a smal blue 'E' on
the left side of the icon.

Do you know why the IE icons are different and why they don't group all
the
internet windows together? Would it be because of the way I accessed the
site, via a link within an application?

Thank you in advance for your reply.
Julia
