Re: open search items with left click.

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi John :-)

What has happened or changed on your system at about the time the problem stated? Did you install any updates? Install any 3rd party software or toolbars? Games or devices?

Have you installed Google, Yahoo, Yahoo Companion...if so, disable them and see if the problem stops.

Also try the following:

First,
Log on as Administrator
Go to Control Panel>Systems>Hardware>Device manager button>
Click the Update button to update the driver and reboot

If still no joy,
Go to Control Panel>Systems>Hardware>Device manager button>
Uninstall button to uninstall the driver. Reboot and XP will reload the driver.

If that does not resolve the problem, then follow the information here to check you system for scumware:

Most importantly, download and install HiJackThis:

Hi John :-)

Pardon if this seems a bit of off the cuff, but, have you checked to see if perhaps your mouse button settings have been changed? Also, is it a cordless mouse? What version is your OS?

Hope this helps.
