Why did you do that? Have you changed ISPs?
Have you asked for help from your new ISP?

Forget that notion. IE is integrated into your OS. The version that you have,
commonly called IE6sp2, does not exist independently.

First of all find out if you have a link. Open a cmd window and enter

ipconfig /all
and
nslookup

If the first command doesn't report 2 addresses for DNS server
and the second command doesn't use one of them successfully
to look itself up that would explain your symptoms and they would
be symptoms which your ISP should help you with.


As an alternative use the XP network troubleshooter
(e.g. press Win-F1 and search for "network diagnostics"
set all scanning options and then scan your system with it.
You can also enter the same scanner from the cmd line
by entering:
netsh diag gui
