Re: Clicked links pop up and then disappear-HELP

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

1. You click on a link and an IE window doesn't even open:

   http://www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx.

2. You click on a link and an IE window opens but it doesn't load:

(re-register all DLLs listed in this KB article)

3. Installing the latest Cumulative Patch for IE may solve the problem as a side-effect. Check in at Windows Update.

4. Run a thorough check for hijackware.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use. It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html or http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 for expert analysis, not here.**

Below is the post that I responded to because I'm having the links I click
in IE not stay up, they just pop-up then disappear...

...I'm having the same darn problem. A small "pop-up window" come up for
just a few moments, then disappears. Sometimes I can re-click the link
several times and it will come up if I maximize it quickly, but 95% of the
time the links I click just won't stay up. I've turned off all the
various pop-up blockers --IE, Yahoo, Google, EarthLink, Charter etc. I've tried many different settings, tried un-installing and
re-installing, nothing I've tried seems to work--so I'm having to resort
to using Netscape. I've used IE for many years and this has never
occurred.
I really want to get my IE working again.

I'm using Windows XP pro sp2, 256 RAM, 1.5 ghrt _IE 6.0 sp2_

Thanks in advance.
