Re: Restricted sites in IE

Are you using an anti-malware/spyware/adware, or ad-blocking program such as Spybot Search & Destroy, etc. that places entries automatically in the restricted sites list?

These entries are stored in the registry. To clear them up, without having to edit the registry manually, go here:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm and scroll down a little bit to the "To remove all the sites listed in the Restricted Zone" part for a little program that will clean them up for you.

I have the same problem, i can't empty my restricted sites folder, but i have
a stand-alone PC at home, and I am an administrator. (me and my husband have
separate folders)

It sounds to me like a network administrator on your network has applied
these Resticted Sites settings using a Group Policy. This would explain why
they come back after a reboot. Contact the administrator in your organisation
who is responsible for Group Policy.
