Cannot open IE, cannot read OE email after installing Windows XP S

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Okay, I may be a late bloomer in FINALLY installing SP2 on my Windows XP
system but I was afraid my system would have problems...

I now cannot open my IE. I can, however, open and use Mozilla fine. I also
cannot open any emails (not the attachments) from Outlook Express, the window
just goes away. When bringing up IE, the window opens and gets to "Web site
found. Waiting for reply" and then the entire window disappears. I have
spent a lot of time running the regsvr32 repairs and I still have the problem.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If you solve this problem, you will be
my new hero...until the next problem comes along
.
