Fails to display

I've tried everything I can think of (not a great deal, sadly) and the
problem persists. There's a handful of websites (that I've discovered so
far: hotmail, mapquest) that explorer will not access. I get the "this page
cannot be displayed" error screen as if I am not connected to the internet,
but I can access other sites. I've reset my security settings and deleted
all cookies but still nothing. I've used both Mozilla and Firefox.

The real kicker is that the problem is occuring on both computers in my home
(they connect through an internet router) so I'm led to believe the problem
is not with either computer. Can anyone think of what might be causing this
problem and how I could go about fixing it?
