See if this helps.
1. Open Internet Explorer
2.On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3.Click the Advanced tab.
4.Under Browsing, click to clear the Automatically check for Internet Explorer updates check box.
5.Click OK.

Well, I looked at the list and microsoft.com was on it, along with a couple of
other variations. So, I deleted them. NOW, the security warning doesn't pop up
any more, but IE always opens at
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
I can click on the homepage icon after IE is open and it will go to my page, and
everything functions 'normally' as long as I don't close IE. It's just when I
start that it automatically opens to the site above. Any other ideas?
Simply add microsoft.com to Trusted Sites list.
