Hi Kris :-)
You can not uninstall IE from WIndows XP. Unlike other versions of Windows where IE was a separate program, IE is a core part of the XP operarting system and therefore, can not be uninstalled.
I suggest that before you try anything else, you repair the XP program using the information here:
How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP

Scroll to the section on SP2:
As for your other problems with accessing sites since installing the SP2, you likely have scumware on your system that has been detected by the Security features of SP2. I suggest that you read the following,
Learn About Windows XP Service Pack 2 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/preinstall.mspx
and then clean your system using the detection and removal tools at the following: Please follow all instructions carefully:

If the problem continues, you can also check the information below for the msn.com access problem:

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site. Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS Hope this helps :-)
also...
Try reinstalling or updating the java virtual machine: http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html or Sun Java here Download for the J2SE 5.0 JRE here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Also....double check the Information Bar at the top of the screen to see if it is interfering. You may need to click ok or allow to make it let you have access. But, just add the site to your Trusted Zone.

Greetings:
I received the update to Windows and now I am Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 : Service Pack 2) With this installed my
Internet Explorer no longer goes to certain sites. I have turned of firewall
and still can't get to the site. I also can't printing from the pages I can
access, such as one of MS sites that wanted to run another update on my PC.
I have tried getting the version 6.0 IE and the download states I already
have a newer version.
I have tried uninstalling the program also with no success.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I really need this program to access a
medical site that will not allow any but IE in.
Kris
