Internet Explorer lockdown...

I have a client using Windows in a peer-to-peer netowrk. There are all
versions, but mostly Windows 2000 and XP Pro.
They are having problems with people messing up their PCs (probably on
night-shift) by downloading junk and introducing spyware to the systems.
I have been asked to lock down certain PCs, allowing them to only visit
approved sites. Can this be done with Group Policy? I'm wondering how to
use it to restrict the use of Internet Explorer to Trusted and Local sites
only, and then I could disable the security applet in Internet Options,
thereby restricting them to my Trusted Sites.
However, I am dismayed by the lack of decent documentation on the use of
policy for this. Am I dreaming, or isn't this what the GPEDIT.MSC is for?
I would apprecaite any input anyone can provide.
Thanks
.
