Internet Explorer fails to load any webpage, stays blank.

Here is my problem. When I click on Internet Explorer, it opens a window,
however, no page loads, it simply remains white. In addition, the windows
flag in the upper right hand corner shows as if its processing however, on
the bottom bar that goes accorss the bottom of the IE page, nothing shows, no
page load status indicator, no icons, nothing in the lower right hand corner
that shows what page was loaded (Internet, Intranet etc). At the top, no
toolbar icons load either(ones from programs on my machine like word or aim),
just the main ones from IE like forward back refresh.

But this isn't all. My Internet connection is fine. I can still use any
instant messengers, I can still use Firefox to browse. However, I use
Outlook for my email. When I try to open email with pictures and stuff, none
of the graphics in the emails load. Also, in AIM instant messenger, pop ups
like the AIM today window open but nothing loads,...just white space.

The problem is corrected by restarting my computer. However, after a few
hours, the problem reccurs. I also notice after the problem comes back that
when I try to close things like AIM and other programs, the icons in the
taskbar freeze.

Here are my configurations:

Dell Dimension 8300
Windows XP Professional SP2
Mcafee Antivirus (fully updated)

Ran all spyware programs (spybot, adaware, spyware doctor etc)

System restore will not solve and I have tried the winsock stacks solution.

I have not made any changes since this problem developed like downloading
new programs etc.

I have seen some similar posts of problems like this, but nothing exactly
the same.

I have tried to be as detailed as possible but if anyone needs any more info
to help me, just let me know.
