I have a system that will not browse the Internet. O/S is XP Prof SP2, Clean
of Viruses and Spyware, IE 6.0 nor Mozilla Firefox can browse. Using a
internal 10/100 NIC. Can ping my IP gateway, yahoo.com, etc. I can nslookup
yahoo.com and other public domains. My internal subnet (shares) are working,
thus ruling out a bad NIC. Internal network is peer-to-peer. Firewall's are
disabled. I've compared services, local policies and routing table to another
system that can browse the Internet from the same network, all are
consistant. All Internet options in IE have been compared to other systems
that browse OK, these settings are consistant. All Advanced IP settings are
OK. HOSTS & LMHOST files are clean. I've flushed DNS cache...
When in IE and entering an address s/a www.msn.com; a stop box come up with:
Internet Explorer could not open the search page.
What's going on!!!!!! Help.
