Hi kellybs :-)
Unless you have a 3rd party ad or popup blocker or other software that is blocking the animation, you might try a reapir of IE.
How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows
XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/EN-US/
Be sure to visit Windows Update site and let it scan for all needed updates and service packs afterward.
Also, if you have SpywareBlaster or other such programs, check the blockers for any that might block animation. Check your security settings.
Hope this helps :-)

Hi Jan Il -
Followed all your instructions, but still no luck. When I did the
following: "regsvr32.exe /i shdoc401.dll" I was told it failed, unable to
locate.... etc. Also, Doug Knox's script is not for use with XP, which is my
o/s.
I had already dumped, cleared & emptied everything possible, as well as double-checking that all my animations, etc. options were checked. I confirmed that my antivirus wasn't the problem, and I checked my firewall (turned it off, in fact, to see if that was the issue). Nothing.
What now? sigh..........

Try the following and see if it helps:
Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
IE>Internet Options>Advanced tab>Multimedia section> Check "Play animations in webpages" Click Apply>OK out.
Try Doug Knox's script utility: http://www.dougknox.com/utility/scripts_desc/fixpix.htm
or…...
Go to Start>Run and type in the window:
regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll (all versions of IE) ... and then hit enter
then type in
regsvr32.exe /i shdoc401.dll (IE5 upwards)
If using WindowsME the command is:
regsvr32.exe /i thumbvw.dll
You should soon see a *succeeded* dialogue box after each command. Click ok, and then reboot
Hope this helps :-)
