Re: Lost history folders and links in left pane

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...General tab, and make sure the "Days to keep pages in history" is not set to zero.

This may be the issue, however:

History Folder Does Not Contain Web Pages
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;193278

There may also be a problem with that user's profile - in that the History folder is not getting properly updated or transferred to his user profile on the server (if roaming profiles are in use). Try to create another profile for that user.

And, seeing the problem occurs with a reboot, there may be some other program running that is interfering with that user's History folder - check for spyware/malware/viruses and the like.

Hi,

I have lost the history links in the left pane in IE. When clicking on history
button in toolbar, the only thing showing up the the left pane are
two files, desktop.ini and index.dat. No dated folders with visited links.

When logging in as a different user IE, the history button folders and visited
links works OK.

Logging in as Administrator and deleting the history folder makes
the history function work normal (for the user it didnt work) during present
session. Logging out logging again doesnt affect the history at all. But
rebooting the computer destroys the history function for this user.

Can anyone advise me what to do?

Regards

Rolfie
