Re: SP2 Information Bar appears on every page
Hi Brian :-)
Try the information here and see if it helps:

n Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options. On the
Advanced tab, scroll down to the Security section of the list. Select the
Allow active content to run in files on My Computer check box, and then
click OK.

Any page that has Javascript at all (even www.google.com), the Information
Bar will pop up saying that the site is trying to block active content.
This
goes for EVERY site. I tried reducing the security to nothing in the
Internet Options temporarily - NOTHING. I got rid of a few infections
(spyware) on the system with AdAware and Spybot. And then I downloaded
Microsoft Anti-Spyware. It found a few more instances, and erased them.
There are no Objects in the "View Objects" - I disabled all of them. I
fixed
the Winsock2 for XP, which wasn't having problems. There was no need to
run
LSPfix.
It's the oddest thing. It pops up twice in a row for Yahoo.com. Only
straight HTML sites seem to not bring up the bar. So I tried reinstalling
the Java Virtual Machine (sun's). Nothing. It has be perplexed. Has
anyone
seen this before? It must be an infection of some sort, but I have
cleaned
it out every way I know how (I also ran HijackThis and removed 2 BHOs).
They
haven't reappeared. Please help!
Thanks!
