"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi all

I have tried all I can do to fix this problem, to no avail.

I am running XP SP2 with the latest updates. I have 2 accounts,
me as admin and my son as a limited user.

Recently he has started getting this error regularly:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

When I ask for more detail it tells me:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 604245d0

I have run Ad-aware and Spybot and the system is clean.

Any help would be appreciated... thanks

Tahir.
