Opening Links

I am using IE 6 on XP -2. When I click on a link in IE I get a red
circle with a red line through it and can not connect to the link. I
scanned with Norton, Search and Destroy and even AOL spyware. The
problem still exists. What settings do I need to change to get it to
work properly. I can go from my opening page to other links in my
home page. When I go to some other pages I have the problem.
