See this article for possible help:
You Cannot Finish Installing or Upgrading Internet Explorer http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303399
Less common issue:
Cannot Install the Vector Graphics Rendering Component When You Upgrade to Internet Explorer 6

When installing IE, it's best to first do a power-off reboot, then disable any anti-virus program you may have running, then do a CTRL+ALT+DEL and End Task on everything on the list except (Windows) Explorer and Systray. Then try your install again. This method will help prevent any program you may have running in the background, and the anti-virus software, from interfering with the install of IE. Some AV software just plain messes up an install of IE, and other programs may be using a file that IE needs to update/replace/remove.

Hi gurus
I Installed windows 2000 on my computer from scratch, I then went to install
IE6 on my computer but I keep getting this message:
"Setup was unable to download the required components. Please make sure you
are connected to the Internet, or try to run Setup again later"
I have tried everything but the right thing I guess, because nothing seems to work around this.
Can you guys help me.
Thanks
.
