Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Monica and Frank:

I have the same problem as Monica. I am using a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop
wiuth Windows XP Home Edition which is updated automatically, and where I
have already installed SP2.

The error message I get back is:

Blue Banner in Box:"Internet Explorer" - then the text on white space
inside box "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Were sorry for the inconvenience." The underneath is the usual white space
with "If you were in the middle of something, the information you were
working on might be lost"

Then the usual notification stuff "Please tell Microsoft about this problem"
etc.

Now: when I click on "To see what data this eror report contains click
here" I get a new box with a blue banner at the top with Internet Explorer,
then in the white space:
"Error Signature:

AppName: iexplorer.exe AppVer: 6.0 2900.2180 Mod Name winett.dll
ModVer 6.0 2900.2577 Offset 00004621

Reporting details
This error report includes: information regarding the condition of Internet
Explorer when the problem occurred; the operating systrem version and
computer hardware in use ............. [no specifics on actual identifiable
info on the error itself] etc."

When I click on "To view technical inform ation about this error report" it
gives me a new box that includes in the white space:
"Exception Information

Code 0x0000005 Flags: 00000000
Record 0x0000000000000000 Address: 0x00000000771b4261

System Information
Windows NT 5.1 Build 2600
CPU Vendor Code 756E6547 - 49656E69 - 6C65746E
CPU Version: 00000F34 CPU Feature Code: BFEBFBFF

Module 1
iexplore exe
Image Base: 0x004000000 Image Size: 0x00000000
Checksum 0x00023c72 Time Stamp: 0x41107b81"

Then there is tons more detaiuled info on modules, etc. that would take me
quite a while to type in.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much,

Brooks
