In the advertisements on major websites not displayed 9/20 thread. It
mentioned "Yes it was the hosts file that was causing the problem. I copied
the
hosts.bak to the original hosts file and it seemed to have cleared up
the problem as the ads work now. I don't know how the hosts file had
so many entries listed with IP of 127.0.0.1 and was blocking a lot of
adservers. I am not sure how Windows XP did it?" I am having the same
problem.

My question is where do you get the hosts.bak to copy?
