Did you call them? What did they say?

That does not mean that IE users may be allowed through.
Perhaps your administrator is blocking IE use deliberately.

XPsp2 has a different User-Agent. The proxy may not know it yet.

To see it enter in an Address bar:

    javascript:navigator.userAgent

(Note the capitalization of Agent in the property name.)
