Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program- possibly malware.

Try running CWShredder from http://www.aumha.org/downloads/cwshredder.zip
Did you run Ad-aware SE, with the lasest updates?

CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot can't remove everything. There's new malware
being released every day. Go to http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Work through the preliminary steps and post a HijackThis log to the forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30 for analysis.

This could also be caused by a legitimate program running in the background.
Disable ad-blockers, toolbars, other add-ons for IE, etc to see if one of
them is causing this. Take a look at any program which might be interacting
with IE.

Hope this helps,
Don
