IE6 Shuts Down after loading page

I have just installed XP Service Pack and upgraded to IE6. When I double
click Internet explorer, the page loads then as soon as it is loaded, quits
without warning. This happens every time, but does not when I do the same
with Firefox. I have spent hours on this problem. Please HELP.
