| Apparently I already had the browser set to accept javascript as follows:
| Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level
| Enable scripting of Java applets
|
| The reason why the web site in question (excite.com) could not be signed
| into was because the web site was listed in Tools > Internet Options >
| Privacy > Sites as a 'Managed Web site' that was set as having its cookies
| 'Always Blocked'. Once I removed the web site from that list I was able to
| sign into it. I already had the allowance of cookies set for Medium
privacy,
| but because the web site was on the blacklist it's cookie were still
| unaccepted.
|
| All is well now, since I removed the web site from IE's blacklist that
would
| not accept its cookies.
