PA Bear, I appreciate the advice, and I tried parts of this with no success.
However, there are other parts of this advice that I CANNOT do. Why? Becaue I
can't launch IE6 to get into Windows Update. I cannot go to
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm and run the Parasite Checker. Why? Because I
cannot lanuch IE6. So I am still stuck. The things I tried didn't help.
Fortunately, I use Firefox for most of my browsing, but there are some sites
that don't work on Firefox, particularly Windows Update.
So what do I do next? Is it possible to "uninstall IE6" and then "reinstall
IE6"?
