I checked everything here except reinstall IE6. No luck.

That won't work since I can't run Windows Update.

Nope. I tried the one relating to the permissions setting
but it didn't work either.

I see IE downloading the cab file for Windows Update, i.e.
wu_website.cab (I did a packet trace using Ethereal), but
it doesn't seem to be able to install it or run it. Is
there some sort of log file for IE6 that shows what error
occurred?
