Hello,

I'm helping someone who reload their computer with Windows
98SE.

The user is having a problem viewing any application that
uses Java. We download Java and still can't view the
applications.

We went thru the following troublshooting guide.
1.. Look at the Virtual Machine settings in Internet
Explorer Tools,
Options and be sure JIT complier is checked on. To do
this - open Internet
Explorer and then select Tools from the menu. Select
Internet Options from
the list and then choose the Advanced tab. Scroll down the
list that looks
like the following until you find the Microsoft VM
heading. Make sure the
box for JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled is
checked.

2.. If that is okay - look at the Security Tab in the
Internet
Options/Custom Level and be sure the following are set:

3.. If all of these settings match the screen shots
above, you may need to
reinstall the java virtual machine which could have been
corrupted during an
update to your system. Follow this link for download.

No luck following the steps above.

Does anyone has any other suggestions? Any suggestion is
greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Mark
