IE 6.0 freezes

I've been having a lot of trouble with IE 6.0. It works
fine, although slowly, until I open a new window or pop-
up. Then, it locks up and needs to be closed. I see
other postings in this newsgroup, suggesting that I visit
the pctools.com website for spyware remover. Problem is,
I'm already running Webroot's Spysweeper software.

Another problem is that I keep getting popups from
winfirewall.com or winantivirus.com. When I try to close
these popups, IE locks up. I'm sure I could download the
product they're selling, and it would probably
(miraculously) cure this pop-up, but I have issues with
this type of strong-arm tactic.

Help!!
