IE6 hangs after trying to load flash driver

I tried to load a driver to allow a flash memory stick to
work on a win 98se machine. The process failed, but ever
since I get hang ups and pop up windows sometimes leave
mostly black "shadows" with color speckles behind, when
using IE 6. Any suggestions?
