The problem is I am unable to access a particular set of web sites
(www.Amazon.com plus all sister sites e.g. www.amazon.co.uk). As far as I
know these are the only sites I cannot access. I use to be able to access
the sites pre SP2 but I find it difficult to relate the problem to SP2. I
have noted several posts recently from others who are experiencing a similar
problem but have seen no solutions.

I am running WINXP Pro SP2 and as far as I can tell the machine is clean
(re: NOD32, Kaspersky, Ad-Aware 1.05, Spybot S&R, BHODemon, also scanned the
machine using Trend online virus checker). The impression is that the
problem relates to a trojan but as far as I can tell the machine is clean.

I have tried all the 'fixes' in the MS KB that seem relevant . Have also
run sfc /scannow using my slip streamed SP2 disk. Have search Google but
without enlightenment.

I can access the 'amazon' sites from the same machine using Firefox so that
seems to eliminate a router or ISP problem. I can also access the problem
sites from my laptop, also WINXP Pro SP2, via my wireless ADSL router; so
that seems to eliminate a SP2, ISP and router problem.

As you can see I am at a dead end. I noted someone suggested loading Sun
Java may solve the problem as corruption with MS Java may give rise to
problems with individual sites. There doesn't seem any harm in trying this
but I would not sfc /scannow have repaired a MS Java problem if one existed?

I would appreciate some help.
