After SP2 & IE6.0 cannot access modem/router

I just updated XP professional with SP2, and was trying
to change settings on DSL Modem/Router. cannot access
through IE usually in the past just entered the Default
Gateway and it would go right in. now IE puts a http://
in front of it and it tries to go onto the web. Any
suggestions?
