Aside from the conventional and primary alternate method as offered, you may
try the following: Try clicking on a new link or window... you'll then have
a 50/50 (maybe 60/40...no.. more like 70/30) chance of "IE has encountered a
problem and must close... sorry for the inconvenience" making a cameo
appearance. Viola! IE closes! =-D
If you're in a pinch, a good pair of "Jump" Boots does the trick as well.
