Mel,

The File associations are modified by the browser you install and the OS takes those values. What happens when you try to download the file .CSV format? Do you get a Open/Save as prompt?

Could you please tell me more about your comment
"Next, it's the duty of your alternate browser to handle the file
associations."
I thought that file associations were handled by the operating system, Win
98SE for me, but I can not download some .CSV files in IE6 that I can in NS.
Thank you
Mel S.

Normanw,
Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options.
In the Programs tab, uncheck the option "Internet Explorer should check to
see........."
Next, it's the duty of your alternate browser to handle the file
associations.
