IE 6 cannot open new window

Suddenly (and no I cannot think of anything I added or
changed) IE 6 (running on 98SE) simply cannot open any link
that is a new window.

In fact, I had to run Netscape to post this message. I am
considering dumping IE altogether at this point because
even before this stupidity, it has been hanging when I try
to initiate it and it hangs when I have left the browser
open for some time.

I have run all the .dll file names recommended in all the
troublehsooting stuff and I have run IE repair as well...

AND, just try getting help directly from Microsoft. Try
$40. Just for email and for what is free software. What?

Can anyone help?
