There is definitely a problem with then latest windows updates. I had the
identical problem. Not just Google. Many URLs could not be resolved. I
have uptodate virus and firewall controls. Windows restore did not resolve
the problem. But when I restored the C partition from backups (using
Acronis Image 7 to its pre-update state, everything returned to normal.
I've been scared to install any of the Windows critical updates since.
