IE will not open....no error msg

I've been having tons of problems with IE hanging or
crashing....but now it won't even start. I sometimes get a
blank page and then it shuts down but other times I get a
flash and then back to the desktop. I've read the "help"
pages (on my work computer since my home one has the the
problem) but most involve messing with REGEDIT....pretty
daunting stuff! I keep my virus DAT files up to date & run
a full Norton weekly so I doubt it's a virus. HELP!!
