Explorer re-opens when I close it

Hello,

I have IE 6 with SP1 (Windows 2K). I recently installed MSN Toolbar and I
have the pop-up blocker activated. The problem I am having is that after
visiting certain sites, when I try to close IE, I get the following error
and then IE re-opens:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience"

I noticed that if I turn off the pop-up blocker, this doesn't happen. For
example, I always get this error when I go to the New York Times website.

I have McAfee virus scan and I have run AD-Aware from lavasoftusa.com.
