You have spyware/malware on your system. Go get copies of
Ad-Aware and Spybot. They are both free spyware removal
tools. Run both of them to remove the affliction(s). You
should then be able to reset your home page.
Once that is done do not reinstall any third party programs
such as Gator, Bonzi Buddy, Alta Vista Search, etc. That
is where you are getting this stuff from.
Whenever you see a pop-up asking you to install something
from a web site click NO and close the ad.
As an alternative you can get Googles Toolbar which
prevents pop-ups.
Another alternative is to try a different browser such as
Firefox, Opera, Konqueror, etc which all have built-in
pop-up blockers.
