I had some spyware on my computer that reset some
settings in internet explorer... after running ad-aware I
was able to reverse what it had done, but I am still
having a problem with advertisements opening in a new
explorer window when I am on the internet. they are like
pop-ups, except my pop-up blocker is not stopping them
and they happen on sites that do not use pop-ups.
sometimes they load an advertisement, sometimes they
don't load anything, and sometimes they open and close by
themselves. I tried disabling active scripting and it
didn't help. any ideas what this could be and how I
could stop it?
