I really doubt if your suggestion gives the cause.
An other specialist gave me the advice to reset my
settings to the defaults. Now my homepage will only open
when I am online, whereas I could previously open most of
the pages visited off-line (even w/o synchronization this
was possible) until I would clear history and files.

I wished I knew where to find this info.

If you have a good clue, I would appreciate your help.
