extensions after the cleanup.

You might also be able to browse and download programs from the address bar
of windows explorer.

Or, disabling suspicious programs from MSCONFIG> Startup may return control
of IE.

Download and run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html CWShredder targets only
one family of parasite, but it's a good first step. CWShredder is only about
125 KB so it could be
downloaded from another machine onto a floppy disk if necessary.
