IE won't display Hotmail and some Microsoft pages

When I call up Hotmail, the browser window is completely blank; however, the hotmail logon page has clearly finished loading b/c the message in the lower left corner says, "Done". I have tried loading www.hotmail.com and clicking through from MSN.com

This is a newer problem b/c prior to this my email recipients would get a blank message from me even though I had typed text into the hotmail new message window using IE6. I am currently working on NT with Service pack 6. I have downloaded all the possible updates according to windowsupdate.microsoft.com

I have tested Hotmail with Netscape and I have full functionality including receiving text in an email message. I have tried to reload IE 6 & the service pack but it has not corrected itself. SUGGESTIONS?
